Established by referendum in 1972, the CCMHB’s mission is to promote a local system of services and supports for persons with mental illness, substance use disorders, or intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, in accordance with the assessed priorities of the citizens of Champaign County. With nine appointed volunteer members, the board allocates approximately $3.9 million per year to organizations providing support and services. The CCMHB plans for, evaluates, and promotes a coordinated, comprehensive local system of services and collaborates with the public and private sectors to provide the resources needed for the community-based system to function effectively.
The CCDDB was established by referendum in 2004 to promote a local system of services and supports for people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, in accordance with the assessed priorities of the citizens of Champaign County. Originally a three-member volunteer board, the CCDDB expanded to five during 2014 and manages approximately $3.5 million per year to organizations providing services.
